Jacinta Kerketta
Jacinta Kerketta is a journalist, poet, and activist from Jharkhand, whose work centers on tribal identity and resistance. Her poetry and journalism highlight the systematic oppression of tribal communities in India, with a focus on gender-based violence, displacement, and state apathy. She was named one of Forbes India’s 20 Self-Made Women. Witnessing severe incidents of violence ignored by mainstream media led her to pursue journalism. Since 2015, she has also been engaged in grassroots work to promote girls' education in tribal villages of Simdega and Khunti districts.
