J. Devika is a Malayali historian, feminist, social critic, and academic from Kerala. She currently serves as a professor at the Centre for Development Studies, Thiruvananthapuram, where she teaches and conducts research. Devika has authored several books and articles on gender relations in early Kerala society. Bilingual in Malayalam and English, she has translated both fiction and non-fiction works between the two languages. Her writings also engage with issues related to gender, politics, social reform, and development in Kerala.
