B Rajeevan began his career as a teacher in various government colleges in 1971 in Kerala. In 1975, he took part in protest against the Emergency, during which he was detained and subjected to torture. Since 1969, he has published numerous essays and books on a wide range of subjects, including philosophy, politics, aesthetics, history, cinema, and literature, earning him several prestigious awards.
